AIX Customization

For a NIM based clone installation most things are already in place and well configured (which is the idea behind cloning). In this case, consider the following as a check list. At GSI, like for installation there's a dedicated script available performing most, if not all tasks automatically:

   mount -r biops5z:/applfs/applb00 /mnt # 
   /mnt/AIX/53/customize.sh # home grown local customization script for AIX 5.3 
   /mnt/AIX/61/customize.sh # home grown local customization script for AIX 6.1 
   /mnt/AIX/71/customize.sh # home grown local customization script for AIX 7.1

Time client setup for ntp
Log files
Startup and login profiles
File systems
Users, groups, and NIS services
Backup services
GSI only: LoadLeveler
If applicable: mail configuration
Graphics and user interface
If applicable: Print services

In order to verify the customization, it is a good idea to reboot:

   shutdown -Fr
