Reboot after Install Hangs on "Multi-User Initialization"

Environment

Problem

During an installation, on reboot, the system hangs at the stage Multi User Initialization complete and no LED is displayed.

Solution

Usually, after Multi User Initialization, the system is trying to spawn getty on the console. The needed action is to set clocal on tty0.

Boot the system back in service mode. Then:

• Access rootvg and start a shell.
• Go into SMIT and change the tty settings. In the option Change Show tty Settings, change the flag Apply Change to Database to yes.
• Now reboot the system and the changes will be in effect.

The system should boot correctly.
