Running oslevel Returns Incorrect Level after Upgrade to AIX 4.1.4

Environment

OS Level: AIX Version 4.1.4
Type/Model: 550

Problem

After a system upgrade from AIX 4.1.3 to 4.1.4 using update_all, oslevel shows 4.1.3.0.

Solution

Solution Summary

Running the command oslevel -l 4.1.4.0 returned numerous filesets with an actual level 4.1.3.0 and a maintenance level of 4.1.4.0.

Remove /tmp/.oslevel.mlinfo.cache. Running oslevel should now produce the correct output.

History

Redoing update_all failed with the message no fileset found to be updated.

Attempts to install each fileset one at a time also failed.
