Failed Install of sna.instdlc.channel 5.0.2.0 and sna.instdlc.sdlc 5.0.2.0 -- Missing Requisites

Problem

Installing sna.instdlc.channel 5.0.2.0 and sna.instdlc.sdlc 5.0.2.0 requires devices.pci.esconCU and devices.pci.331121b9. The exact errors during the attempted installation are as follows:

 Selected filesets
 sna.instdlc.channel 5.0.2.0
 sna.instdlc.sdlc 5.0.2.0

 requisite failure

 Selected are the filesets that you asked to install.
 They cannot be installed until all of their requisite filesets
 are also installed.

 sna.instdlc.channel 5.0.2.0
 sna.instdlc.sdlc 5.0.2.0

 Group requisites:

 At least 1 of the following
 | * devices.pci.esconCU
 | * devices.mca.fe92.rte
 | * devices.mca.8fc3.rte

 At least 1 of the following
 | * devices.pci.331121b9
 | * devices.isa.mm2.rte
 | * devices.mca.deff.rte
 | * devices.mca.8f70.rte

Solution

Run lslpp -l.

 devices.pci.esconCU.diag 2.1.1.0
 devices.pci.esconCU.rte 2.1.1.0
 devices.pci.331121b9.com 4.3.2.0
 devices.pci.331121b9.rte 4.3.2.0
 devices.pci.331121b9.diag 4.3.2.0

Copy the filesets sna.instdlc.channel and sna.instdlc.sdlc to the hard disk and then run inutoc. Then vi .toc and change the following lines:

 *instreq devices.pci.331121b9
 *instreq devices.pci.esconCU

Change them to the following, respectively:

 *instreq devices.pci.331121b9.rte
 *instreq devices.pci.esconCU.rte

Then save the file and redo the install, which should work fine.
