Boot from Install CD-ROM Enters Diagnostics

Environment

OS Level: 4.2.1
Type/Model: c10

Problem

When a system boots from the install CD-ROM, it goes into diagnostics.

Solution

Verify that an IBM CD-ROM drive is being used.

Next, look at the service mode bootlist. If the list is set to cd0, change it to generic cd. The boot should now work fine.
