Migration from AIX 4.1.4 to 4.3.1 Causes Duplicate SMIT Panels

Problem

A migration from AIX Version 4.1.4 to 4.3.1 causes duplicate SMIT entries, which are a combination of 4.1.4 and 4.3.1 SMIT panels.

Solution

The APAR for this problem, IX81993, is for tracking purposes. In actuality there is only an efix for this problem. The efix is available from the following URL:

The problem is fixed in AIX 4.3.2.
