Boot from CD-ROM Enters Diagnostic Mode

Environment

OS Level: AIX Version 4.1.4
Type/Model: 560

Problem

When the system boots off of the AIX 4.1.4 install CD-ROM, the diagnostic menu appears.

Solution

Make sure that the CD-ROM is part of the bootlist.

From diagnostics, select Service Aids. Then, in sequence, select Change Alter bootlist and service mode bootlist. Then view or change the service mode bootlist to make the CD-ROM the boot device.
