Receiving an LED C43 When Booting from a mksysb

Environment

OS Level: AIX Version 4.2.1
Type/Model: F50

Problem

When attempting to boot from a mksysb made from the same model F50 to which you are trying to install, the LED panel is displaying code C43.

Solution

The code C43 indicates that the boot or installation tape could not be accessed.

This can occur on systems with multiple tape drives. Check to ensure that the tape drives are at the latest level of the fileset devices.scsi.tape.rte. 4.2.1.1 (IX69950).
