Syntax


UNIX:
satan [[-]new [-]old [-]test]  [executable] 

others:
satan [   new    old    test]  [executable] 

Purpose

Loads SATAN standard or user analysis executable.

Parameters

executable

User analysis executable, prepared with satmake or equivalent.
If executable is omitted, a standard SATAN executable is loaded.

new old test

Selects SATAN version. Refers to installation directories pointed to by the environment variables $SATANNEW, $SATANOLD, $SATANTEST, respectively. If omitted, the production version (pointed to by $SATAN) is chosen.

Function

The appropriate environment selected by the version parameter is set up and the specified user (or standard) executable is loaded.

Example

satan
loads the standard SATAN executable.
satan -new bio9105
loads the user analysis executable bio9105 in the new environment.
