INPUT

/
dsname()
device()
format()
labeltype(NL)
volume()
file()
density(6250)
nogo
skip(0)
noconfirm
debug

Purpose

Allocate and open a raw data file, and start SATAN analysis.

Parameters

dsname(dsn)

The specified disk data set will be allocated and opened for input.
To switch to online data input from an experiment you specify the name of the node running the remote event server, appended with a double colon ('::')
Tape input and wild cards are not yet supported.

device(dev)

Not yet implemented.

format(fmt)

Specifies type of external (other than MBS or EDAS) listmode data format. Currently implemented are for the UMAC and ATMD (F.Kaufmann, V.Dangendorf) data acquisition systems, respectively. Listmode events in these formats are internally converted to MBS-like events (type/subtype 4.2 for ATMD ) and can thus be processed with an EDAS/GOOSY style analysis procedure.

labeltype(l)

Not yet implmented.

volume(v)

For input from magnetic tape the volume with the volume name 'v' is requested. If omitted, the previous volume is assumed.
Not yet implemented.

file(f)

Not yet implemented.

density(d)

Not yet implemented.

nogo

If specified, data input is not yet started. This may be done later with the command GO.

skip(s)

Skip next s file headers and the associated data in the current file.
Not yet implemented.

noconfirm

Do not confirm the file header prompt.

debug

Debug switch. Lots of output !

Function

The specified data source (disk, tape, event server) is allocated and opened for input. Then data input - and data analysis, if an analysis program is available - is started immediately, if not inhibited by the keyword nogo.
If data analysis is still active, and a new INPUT command is specified, the I/O task (data reading) is stopped, all I/O buffers are cleaned, and the I/O task is restarted.

Remarks

None so far

Examples

INPUT  /  DSN(ArPb)
allocates a disk dataset ArPb for input, analysis starts immediately.
INPUT  / DSN(biori6z::)
defines the remote event server running on the host biori6z as data input source, analysis starts immediately.
