This hotfix addresses the following issues:

1. On multiprocessor machines, using the equation editor in Microsoft
   Word causes the system to hang.

2. On some systems, corrupted or 16-bit embedded documents in other 
   documents can cause application errors when attempting to save
   from within a 32-bit application. These application errors
   prevent the user from completing any attempt to save the master
   document containing the corrupted or 16-bit embedded documents.

1. Copy SE17B085.EXE to an empty directory on your hard disk and
   execute the command:

   SE17B085

2. Execute the following command to install the hotfix on your
   system:

   HOTFIX /I

3. Shut down and restart your computer.
