This directory contains new files for Winframe 1.6, Service Pack 5.


This Service Pack for WinFrame 1.6 contains all the fixes from Service Packs 1,
2, 3, 3B, 4, and 4A along with new fixes for Service Pack 5.  The files are:

    sp5_16d.exe   -   Service Pack 5, floppy version
    sp5_16s.exe   -   Service Pack 5, network installable version
    sym5_16s.exe  -   Symbols for Service Pack 5 for WinFrame 1.6

NOTE:  If your WinFrame system uses special system software such as 
Multi-Processor HALs or Compaq SSD, this system software should be 
reinstalled after installing Service Pack 5. See the SP5 README.TXT for more
information.

Also included is WinFrame 1.6 Multi-Protocol Routing Service:

    mpr5_16s.exe

Updates to the WinFrame 1.6 client are also included. These files are:

    sp5_dos.exe   -   Updated WinFrame 1.6 client for DOS
    sp5_w16.exe   -   Updated WinFrame 1.6 client for Windows 3.1
    sp5_w32.exe   -   Updated WinFrame 1.6 client for Windows 95/NT


Known problems with Service Pack 5 and WinCenter Connect 2.1.60:

Abstract:  Get an application error in WINLOGON.EXE when logging off a 
           winstation session.

Details:   When NIS is enabled, logging off a winstation session displays 
           an application error in winlogon.exe with the following (similar) 
           information:

               The instruction at "0x1000d8aa" referenced memory at
               "0x0000000b". The memory
               could not be "read".

               Click on OK to terminate the application

           This application error appears to cause no other problems in the
           system.
