Filename: SE165089.EXE For: WinFrame Version 1.6 Replaces: WF160506, SE165080 Language supported: English (US) NOTE: You must install Service Pack 5 before applying this Hotfix. Description ----------- This hotfix for Citrix WinFrame Version 1.6 addresses the following issues: 1. This corrects the problem where print jobs would get stuck in the spooler when printed to a permanent client WinStation printer. The spooler status would say "printing" but it would not print unless you restarted the spooler. [From Hotfix WF160506] 2. This hotfix solves the "All Pipe Instances are Busy" error. This error is caused by applications that use the 16-bit DOS method of printing using pipes. The default number of available pipes is ten. Under heavy printing conditions, the default value may not suffice. [From Hotfix SE165080 and SE165089] Installation Instructions for the SE165089 Hotfix ------------------------------------------------- 1. Copy SE165089.EXE to an empty directory on your hard disk and execute the command: SE165089 2. Execute the following command to install the Hotfix on your system: HOTFIX /I 3. Shut down and restart your computer. Notes ----- The CLTPRINT.EXE utility allows the number of Client Printer Pipe Instances to be increased. The CLTPRINT utility has the following usage: CLTPRINT - Change the number of Client Printer Pipes Instances [/Q] - query current setting [/PIPES:number] - Set the number of Client Printer Pipe Instances (10-63) [/?] - display this help message Once CLTPRINT is used to increase the number of pipe instances, the spooler must be stopped and then restarted in Control Panel/Services. The spooler will be restarted with the number of Client Printer Pipes Instances set to the new value. The value for the number of Client Printer Pipe Instances is saved in the following Registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Control \Print \Monitors \Client Printer Port \Parameters VALUE: NumClientPrinterPipes: REG_DWORD This entry will not exist on systems that have not run "cltprint" and will use the default of ten pipe instances. This entry is ignored on systems that do not have the updated "cpmmon.dll". For most users, the default number of ten pipe instances should be sufficient.
