Description ----------- This hotfix includes a utility to toggle whether a third-party GINA program can be bypassed when logging in on the console. Installation Instructions for Hotfix SE165040 --------------------------------------------- 1. Copy SE165040.EXE to an empty directory on your hard disk and execute the command: SE165040 2. Execute the following command to install the hotfix on your system: HOTFIX /I 3. Rebooting your machine is not necessary. DEFGINA.EXE Usage ----------------- A third-party GINA program is usually installed for security purposes. This is used to authenticate clients when logging on. However, the administrator may wish to be able to log in quickly on the console; for instance, when the server is locked in a closet and cannot be reached physically, the security is the lock on the door; additional login security may be unneccesary. This program toggles a Registry key that determines whether to use the third-party GINA or the default GINA for logins occurring on the console. The following is used to enable the default GINA (which bypasses the third-party GINA for console logins): DEFGINA /ENABLE The following is used to disable the default GINA (which enables the third-party GINA for console logins): DEFGINA /DISABLE Use the following to determine the current setting: DEFGINA /Q It is necessary to reboot the WinFrame server for the new setting to take effect.
